All Opengear console servers, except the ACM5000 family, use a standard DB9M connector for the LOCAL console/modem port. Most of these console servers have a dedicated DB9M console/modem port. The SD4001, SD4002 and KCS6004 have a serial port which can be configured as the console/modem port (and this "configurable" console/modem port is a DB9M).
Most generic computers have a DB9M DTE console connector. So they can be attached to the console server's console/modem port using the #319001 and #319000 adaptors with standard UTP Cat 5 cable.
To connect the console/modem port to an external modem (for out of band access) use #319004 adaptors with standard UTP Cat 5 cable.
Each console server in the ACM5000 family has a configurable console/modem port. However it is provided using a Cisco pinout RJ45 connector. So the generic computer attaches to the console server's console/modem port using a standard UTP Cat 5 cable terminated in a #319015 adapter, and you connect to an external modem using a #319014.
RS-232 standard connector pinout
RS232 pinout standards exist for both DB9 and DB25 connectors as shown below
