Can I power cycle a device that I am telnet or ssh connected to?
Firmware V2.7 enables users to control the power connection to a Managed Device from the command line using a hot key when they are telnet or ssh connected to the device:
- Check Power Menu when configuring the serial port Console Server Settings in Serial &Network: Serial Port
- Ensure the Managed Device to be accessed has been set up with at least the Serial port connection and the Power connection details configured
- Use your terminal client (e.g Hyperterminal) to set up an ssh or telnet connection to the serial port and log in to the connected Managed Device
- At any stage you can enter the ~p command to bring up the power menu
- Select the desired shell power command:
- O Power ON
- P Power OFF
- R Power cycle
- s Show power status
- . sExit power menu
